I ordered this for my son so have not actually used it myself, but he reports good results. I own a fancy Zojirushi "fuzzy logic" cooker that is much more expensive but we had to have it repaired twice and eventually replaced. This seems like a practical purchase.

I ordered this rice cooker based on the reviews since I've never owned one and wanted one so badly.I absolutely Love it!! My rice is done in a short amount of time and the best part is that I don't have watch it! I can go about by business doing other things and come back to cooked rice! I highly recommend it! It's also very easy to clean. Can't beat that.

Sanyo is a trustworthy brand and it stays true for this purchase. The package came in perfectly intact, it looks exactly like the picture here, and the cooked rice taste good. My only complain is that, if you want to make porridge, you would have to turn it off manually and not wait until it automatically shuts off in order to get the desired porridge consistancy. But this extra step is not too annoying so I will still give it a five-star rating.

Works well, but it does take some time and attempts to get the rice consistency that you prefer. The instructions indicate you should soak the rice for 30 minutes before cooking, however with my preferred rice (Jasmine) I get better results without soaking. The keep warm function works great with no burning.
