So tasty! March 8, 2008 Laura Faber (Drummonds, TN United States) This is such a tasty product, and so easy to make. The loaf is moist and tender, and it makes great toast! My son even liked it, and he doesn't need to eat gluten free. It is so nice to have a non-white style bread available to those of us with Celiac Disease, and the nuts and seeds are an added pleasure!
Hearty, good taste, texture is crumbly February 6, 2008 WallyFam (middletown, de United States) I like this bread as a change from the somewhat tasteless white gf breads. I do not care for breads made from bean flour, but the bean flour in this mix is not detectable due to the flavors of the seeds and nuts. Overall a good hearty bread for turkey or maybe even rueben sandwiches. I toasted open faced sandwiches with provolone and tomato and topped them with avocado, baby spinach and honey mustard - it was delicious. I recommend as with most other gf breads that you toast this bread. This bread is not good with peanut butter (yuck!) I wish it were softer and not as crumbly, but overall pretty good. It's easy to mix, add water, oil and eggs, let rise, bake and enjoy!
Really good, if you don't mind caraway seeds January 22, 2008 V. Hopkins (Colorado) My husband has celiac and gets really tired of boring gluten-free breads. He was THRILLED when I found this mix. I find that baking it the "old fashioned" way works best. It really isn't a lot of trouble since there's no kneading involved. If you don't like caraway, don't bother. But, if you want a bread with more texture, give it a try. You might want to try one package from a health food store before you buy on line just to be sure.
Nasty January 8, 2008 A. Grow (Your House) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nasty, nasty, nasty. All three of us gagged with one bite, and we're not picky eaters. It went straight in the trash. The aftertaste was even worse.
Bob's Red Mill January 2, 2008 Diane Black (Raton, NM USA) This is great bread. It has a flavor similar to pumpernickle or a light rye. Makes a great ruben sandwich. My family likes it for a change.
