Too thick, not very good April 18, 2008 Marie Lewis (Southern born World Citizen) I made this in my bread machine. It smelled great, but was very dense and just not good. My 7yo who is gluten free would not eat it.
Good-tasting while hot December 13, 2007 Carol A. Kryder (Colorado Springs, CO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This bread is absolutely wonderful hot out of the offen. The flavor and texture are perfect. I add extra raisins and cinnamon to the dough, which is very easy to make. It is not as good after cooling, though. I think it is better toasted when it is a day or so old.
Great deal. September 17, 2007 D. Tye 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This mix iis about half the price I can find iit in stores. A bit different texture, but very good.
If you like dry bread.... September 14, 2007 J. McCutcheon (Phoenix, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bread is very dry. I won't buy it again. The flavor is not bad, but I'd rather buy Pamela's Bread mix and throw in my own cinnamon and raisins. I've even made cinnamon bread from scratch that was more moist than this.
Good as It Gets for Gluten Free Bread July 11, 2007 prussianette (Grayslake, IL United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Okay, let's face it--gluten free bread will never have the texture of gluten bread. However, this bread does approximate it as close as you can get. There are plenty of raisins. I was a bit worried as my bread maker indicates you are to add dried fruit separately and the raisins are incorporated into the mix, but it turned out perfectly. I put mine on the one rise setting with light crust, but will set to medium crust next time. The only difference I can note between this and "regular" raisin bread (that I can remember from my pre-gluten free days) is that it is not quite as sweet. But, you can always add more sugar if you like it that way. My 14 year old nephew, who does not have to be on a gluten free diet) ate about a half a loaf of this in a day, as is, with just butter spread on it.
