Excellent for Gluten Free August 12, 2010 Jonathan Hale (Belchertown, MA, USA) I used this machine exclusively for Gluten Free bread. It has a Gluten Free setting. At first I thought machine was defective because when I pushed the Start button nothing happened. It turns out that the Gluten Free setting (and some others) start by warming the ingredients before any mixing occurs. So far I have been using Gluten Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread Mix. The 22 oz box makes a two pound loaf. Every loaf has been wonderful. One feature that I don't care for is that it keeps the bread warm for an hour after the baking cycle has completed. In theory this keeps the steam from condensing and creating a soggy crust. In practice this causes the crust to get even darker, which I don't care for. Another plus for this machine is that it is easy to get replacement pans and paddles from Cuisinart and they charge a very price.
Good product bad service August 9, 2010 Suha Yaman (IL, USA) We got this bread maker with a lot excitement but it was not heating. If you plan to buy from Abe's of Maine,be careful item may not be functional. They reimbursed but I had to pay shipping and restocking fee which costed as much as brand new.
Sporadic results August 9, 2010 Richard It was bought as a gift for my wife, and she knows how to bake, so I don't think it's a mixing or prep issue, but it's a "crap shoot" as far as how the bread will turn out. Sometimes it comes out fine, other times it comes out under or over cooked.
