Breadman TR2500BC Breadmaker April 24, 2008 Judy W. Davis The machine I purchased malfunctioned each time it was used, except when making jam. Bread pan became disengaged from mechanism that controls mixing and kneading processes, thereby ceasing all kneading functions. I returned this items for a refund.
Pan pops out during kneading April 20, 2008 College Kid (USA) This bread machine was my big special Christmas present. I live in a dorm room on the other side of the country and Mom thought it would be nice for me to have real fresh bread. It was great... for the first 10 loaves. It turns on in the morning, and makes bread before I get up. It made fantastic bread, too. Then the pan started coming out of the brackets and popping up during kneading. The moving parts at the bottom that stir the dough went CRASHING into one another at different speeds - causing terrible noises and, I am sure, damage to the inside of the machine. Thank God I was right there when it happened, or I don't know WHAT would have happened. I have nightmare visions of the dorm burning down. The company gives you suggestions to fix the problem, which don't work. The machine was my Christmas present so I don't have the sales receipt. I am so sad, now. My week is ruined. So is my bread machine! And my Christmas was wasted on a big expensive machine that doesn't work AND tried to kill me.
POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT April 14, 2008 KH (NC, USA) Breadman's customer support is terrible and they will not stand by their product. I had a problem with a previous model. It was clearly a design flaw. They would not replace the breadmaker when I called and told them of the issue and instead told me all I needed to do was pull out the clips and that would fix the problem. It did for a while but when it no longer worked the breadmaker was out of warranty and I was rudely told that they would do nothing, even when I explained that I called when it was still under warranty. The solution - I should buy a new pan (must be a redesigned pan) for close to $50 w/ shipping. NO THANKS. CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS TERRIBLE. WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. POOR DESIGN. BUY FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER.
Good machine April 12, 2008 Alan N. Meier (Huntington Beach,Ca) I have owned several brands of bread machines in the past. I rank this one as the best of the lot. I bought this one as a backup to an identical machine that is two years old. Eventually every appliance wears out and I do not want to be without my favorite.
I fabricated a large hopper for adding up to 1/2 pound of raisins for raisin bread. I think it is a worthwhile improvement.
Broken after 8 days April 8, 2008 E. Mead (Laramie, WY) I purchased this product 8 DAYS ago and I went to use it today and the computer failed to receive power. Nothing displayed on the display. I have taken very good care of this machine as I hoped it would last years. Another problem I have is I live at 7200 ft and the wheat bread recipes included in the manual will not raise correctly at this altitude. The suggestions in the instruction manual did not help. Another review on Amazon steered me in the correct direction. If you live at a high altitude, use less yeast and use the white bread kneading cycle to produce results. I am very sad that it will not work, I just figured out how to use it.
