Cusinart Bread Machine May 9, 2008 Susie Homemaker (Florida) I have only 1 complaint about the Bread Machine. That is the handle on the Bread pan. It tears up the Bread getting it out of the pan.Otherwise it is a very good product. So I gave it a 4 star.
Just a little noisy, other then that, great machine. April 30, 2008 R. L. Bennett (Lanai City, HI) Bought this machine for my wife last year, we love making bread she has no complaints but i have one only being that it's a little noisy when kneading the bread. But we live in a small house/apartment so if you kitchen is upstairs or far away from the enterainment room, shouldn't have any issues. Still i give it a 4 because people like me who's kitchen is near the enterainment room, it may cause some slight WTH is that thing doing out there. Love the bread though and very easy for a man to use..hell i use it all the time. EASY!!
Cuisinart convection breadmakr April 26, 2008 Jane E. Hochstein (Michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product so I could make gluten-free breads and the first loaf I made turned out much better than my old breadmaker since it has gluten-free cycle.
Outstanding! March 31, 2008 J. Johnson (Bay Area Calif. USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had other bread machines, but none quite like this beauty! It is so very easy to make terrific bread, now I do not even buy bread. The downside, it is large and during the mixing and kneading process, very noisy. Fortunately my laundry room/pantry adjoins the kitchen. I fill the bread maker pan in the kitchen, then put it into the machine and close the kitchen door. Perfect bread every time! The cookbook that came with it is great also.
Paddle wears down after three months, creates tar-like substance! March 3, 2008 Corrina Rebecca Collins (Montana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was thrilled to get this bread machine for Christmas in 2007, as I all but demanded it, and for the first month or so was very happy with it. One thing I noticed right off the bat was the hardness of the crusts... If one likes crust that is approximately the consistency of concrete, then by all means bake your bread in the machine on the medium or hard crust settings. I gave up after a while and used it solely on the dough cycle, then baking the loaves in my oven. This gave me much better results and I was able to create the artisan-style free-form loaves my family prefers. However, before long I noticed that the dough cycle was not consistently incorporating, therefore not allowing the gluten net to develop and the consistency of the breads became dense and unpleasant, without any changes in recipe, ingredient temperature, or method. I soon realize that the dough paddle was worn away at the corners, so it didn't fit properly on the peg and would actually fall out during the kneading cycles -- a major problem. The worst thing that happened was the formation of a dark, gooey, revolting substance from beneath the paddle peg (and on the underside of the bread pan), which oozed through the shaft of the paddle and incorporated into the dough! This even after meticulous hand-washing of the parts after each use. It is almost like axle grease, and it is disgusting. This is a great-looking machine, and matches the stainless in my kitchen, including a Cuisinart toaster. I think that is the real reason it enticed me, even though I read so-so reviews... Unfortunately this goes the way of other Cuisinart small appliances (particularly coffee-makers), which look great but are ultimately just shoddily-constructed junk. In this case you don't get what you pay for. I strongly recommend the less-beautiful, more bulky, but infinitely better-constructed and more professional and reliable Zojirushi BBCCX20. Even though it's over the $200 mark, the difference in price isn't that great, and is definitely worth it.
