Our kitchen is modern and uses black counter top. We searched everywhere for black bread box with sleek, minimalist design. The one we loved on website was over $100, which seemed little excessive for a box. So opted for a cheaper, but still quite expensive one from Polder.
We had to wait 3 months for the order because the manufacturer ran out of the product before Christmas - only black ones were gone. After waiting for so long for an expensive, stupid bread box, I have to admit, I still like it. It's functional. Holds plenty of bread. We even have butter dish in there with the bread. No plastic smell even from start. Good product so far after using it for a month. From the picture it may be hard to see -- but you cannot see through the plastic cover.
