Product Description A big worry for the newly diagnosed Celiac is diet! How depressing it is to realize that your gastro-intestinal system will seek retribution on your body for sneaking a morsel of that wonderful, tasty looking doughnut. So you go about thinking you have to eat cardboard pizza, or bread that crumbles and wont fold over into a sandwich. But gluten free food has made great strides. Gluten Free by Grandma will help alleviate your fears once you realize that there are dozens of delicious dishes awaiting discovery by your taste buds. This cookbook is the result of over twenty-five years of working with GF flours and converting gluten food to gluten free.

Recipes had name brand GF substitues April 21, 2008 F. Wilson (CT United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had to return the book because many of the recipes had name brand ingredients that are not easily found in my area. I was hoping the book would have had recipes with the various GF flours. I was surprised to find premixed flours in a book by 'Grandma'.
My favorite new cookbook July 4, 2007 Parent of Two (Tri-Cities, WA) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am always looking for cookbooks with delicious recipes that are easy to make for family and friends including those who require gluten free food. Gluten Free by Grandma is all I hoped it would be. Whether for entrees, side dishes, or desserts the recipes have been so simple and tasty that I will be sure to make them again and again. Since my immediate family members are non-celiacs, with some recipes I have followed the author's suggestion to substitute wheat flour cup for cup for the flours she uses in the book. Both the gluten free and gluten full versions of the recipes turned out great!
Helped me to diagnose myself! July 2, 2007 Debra J. Greenway (Metamora, IL United States) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I never really knew for sure whether I had a gluten intolerance until I started using Betty's recipes, ingredients, and conversions for my other recipes -- I feel so much better now!
What a Great Cookbook! June 16, 2007 Ann (California) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's about time! A gluten-free cookbook with delicious recipes that are not difficult to make. The ingredients are easy to find, and the recipes are not complicated. But, most importantly, the food is delicious! I recommend this book to anyone who needs to eat gluten-free.
