Product Description
Gluten free. Wheat free. Vegan. From premium organic brown rice. Lundberg Rice Cakes: Delicious, nutritious, whole grain goodness! Our rice cakes are made with our own freshly milled brown rice to ensure freshness, great taste and whole grain goodness. With nearly twice-as-much rice as other brands, our cakes are packed with twice the flavor, value and nutrition. Lundberg Family Farms Rice Cakes are wheat free, gluten free and made with the natural goodness of brown rice. Truly exceptional taste and a healthy snack for the whole family! Enjoy! Purity you can taste: Lundberg Family Farms has been growing healthy, high quality, great tasting rice in Northern California since 1937. Our rice is grown using organic farming methods from prior generations and innovations from today. Our highest priorities include improving the soil while protecting the air, water, and wildlife. Rice straw is returned to the soil after harvest (instead of burning) to enrich the soil and protect the air and the environment. We use only approved organic inputs to grow organic rice. Our crop rotation practices include utilizing nitrogen-fixing crops for soil enrichment. Lundberg Family Farms does not grow genetically engineered rice varieties. The fields provide valuable habitat for a variety of animals. Migrating waterfowl inhabit flooded fields during the winter - they provide natural fertilizer and aid in straw decomposition. We practice water-conserving irrigation. We purchase green power for our handling and processing facilities. We care for our rice from planting to packaging to ensure you'll always receive the highest quality rice. USDA organic. Certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).

4 out of 5 stars Good but break easily   August 19, 2009

These are good rice cakes but they crumble easy. Very good with peanut butter or choc chips.

5 out of 5 stars Fresh Lundberg rice cakes & how to read freshness date   April 27, 2008

These rice cakes were very fresh -- made one month before I received. Shipping was fast too.

How to read freshness code found on each rice cake bag tie: There is a 5 digit number, such as 05608. The two digits on the far right are the year made. The three digits on the left are the day of the year made. The rice cakes in this example were made on the 56th day of 2008.

5 out of 5 stars Only for health reasons   March 18, 2008

This product is dry, crumbly, and has a boring taste.

So why do I give it a 5 star rating? Because those things are exactly what I want -- something healthy that won't tempt me to overeat. In this respect, the product delivers perfectly.

I do wish that these cakes didn't have a tendency to fracture into a million pieces as soon as I bite into them, but I would venture that the only way to solve that problem would be to add something artificial, or sugary, neither of which would I favor. Therefore I recommend leaning over your plate when eating the things.

These rice cakes do not taste like Styrofoam and have a much better texture than the quaker ones. The baby loves them.
